RE2020 Input Sheets – Sammeo Ceiling Fans

Edibatec Integration with Regulatory Thermal Calculation Software

Integration with Edibatec is already available for Perrenoud, Climawin and Pleiades-Comfie.

Integration is currently in progress for the other RE2020 software solutions.
You can access the Edibatec datasheet here.

Characterisation of Ceiling Fans in RE2020

The modelling of ceiling fans is carried out taking into account the following elements:

  • A ceiling fan component is created for each type of ceiling fan.
  • Only one type of ceiling fan is permitted within the same enclosed room.
  • The air speed in an area covered by ceiling fans of a given model is proportional to the air circulation rate in that area.
  • The calculation is applicable for ceiling heights below 3 m.
  • For ceiling fans of the same model, the same control/regulation strategy is applied, as the exact location of the occupant is unknown.
  • The maximum area served by a ceiling fan is 15 m².
  • Ceiling fans may only operate during the cooling period.

Data entry is carried out at group level.

Ceiling fans may only be introduced in non-air-conditioned groups.

Data to Be Entered in RE2020 Software

The input data are as follows:

  • number of ceiling fans: according to the number specified for the relevant area[i]
  • type:
    • for standard Sammeo models: manual control
    • for Sammeo versions equipped with a thermostat, select “automatic control with thermostat”, and enter the values below:
      • Δθop1: 0°C
      • Δθop2: 2°C
      • Δθop3: 0°C

  • usage type: day/night/day and night

Based on the information currently available to us, the usage type is determined according to the actual use of the room concerned. For example, an office is considered a daytime-use space, while a bedroom is considered a nighttime-use space. A bedroom that also serves as an office (for example, a studio apartment used for remote working during the day) may benefit from the day and night mode.

Only residential buildings may benefit from nighttime or mixed-use operation.

  • % of usable floor area occupied by rooms of the specified usage type: the value is limited to a maximum of 15 m² per ceiling fan
  • % of usable floor area covered by identical ceiling fans: 100%
  • Maximum electrical power of the ceiling fan: 42.42 W – justified value
  • Maximum airflow rate of the ceiling fan: 11,882 m3/h – justified value
