Does the RE2020 apply to all new buildings?
The RE2020 is intended to apply to all new buildings.
Its application will go through several phases:
- homes initially, from 1 January 2022,
- offices and educational establishments, from 1 July 2022.
In addition, it has been announced that the requirements in terms of the carbon content of buildings will become stricter in 2025 and then in 2030. By this date, buildings will have to be constructed with a carbon content reduced by 35%.
